Central Vancouver Island Region, British Columbia
In 2020, Keolis (PWTransit Canada Ltd.) took over transit system operations in the Comox Valley and Campbell River, adding these systems to its existing Port Alberni Transit contract (operated since 2008) as one regional system called the Central Vancouver Island Region. Keolis operates both conventional and door-to-door (handyDART) services in each of the three communities, operating and maintaining 49 transit vehicles provided by BC Transit through an operator lease agreement. In Port Alberni and Comox, Keolis provides the bus storage and maintenance facilities, while in Campbell River we occupy a BC Transit-owned facility completed in early 2020 (Keolis was the first tenant in this building).
